Whilst I appreciate that the Nespresso coffee makers may not be for everyone, the least make a consistent coffee. However, my coffee maker, there is no stock in descaling, purgatory endlessly, repeating the cycle again and again. Every time I go through this process is the same torment. I would really love more than a blinking LED indicator.
The UK is not in a “heatwave”. Higher temperatures are instead the result of global climate change, and this is the technical bit, a season called known as Summer.
I missed a few notifications today and was reminded that I’ve never really adopted the habit of using Notification Centre in iOS16. Previous incarnations were so poor that my habit is to check apps, but Focus Modes have now hidden away those notifications.
My vision is fine thank you. It doesn’t need anything “pro” other than maybe a tweak of my prescription here or there.
Reached the point where I need to give in and increase the font size, to make iOS visible…. But the reading glasses can’t be far away
I’m speechless to get an “Uncle” card from them. They are wonderful kids. Just don’t tell them I said that.

After a few months on a shelf my old MacBook Pro is back with me.
Not however one of the shiny new M2 Pro’s, but instead a MacBook purchased back in 2015:
Minus a few relatively minor issues this machine served me well as my work laptop 2015-22. Following an enforced company-wide switch to Windows laptops this contraband has been on a shelf, but is now back in operation albeit not for the company.
Instead after the asset was formally written off I “bought” the MacBook following a small charitable donation of around $60 USD. It has now seen a fresh new install of an old OS, specifically 10.14.16 or Mojave as it’s known on Sundays, and is back in service… just about.
To be fair this will only be used for checking mail and some light sofa-based-shopping so it’s not going to be pushed to the limit of that 2.6GHz i5, or much demands put on the 8Gb of non-unified memory.
The purchase of a new M1 or M2 will have to wait for a little while longer. During which I can determine if I really need a new Pro, or if an M2 Air will meet my needs.
Dam you Apple. I’m very tempted by the New MacBook’s Pro, even though I was imagining this would be something for March or April.
Despite hearing some mixed reviews I have to say that I’m really enjoying Andor. I’m about half way through and so far it’s a really thoughtful and well-made drama.

Woke up at 4am this morning. I subsequently decided just to get up with energy, purpose and well-rested exuberance. A mere 4hrs later this same ebullience has all but evaporated and I may be regretting that most of today.
I’ve crossed the nadir of a week-long cold and hoping the long tail to recovery ramps up so as to not wipe out this weekend’s plans.
It’s true, I am indeed not a Robot. I’m glad that was cleared up.
